Lenten Services

The final mid week Holy Communion and Healing Service will be held in St. Matthew’s at noon on Wednesday, March 21.  The mid week services have been on alternating weeks in St. Matthew’s and St. Peter’s.  Refreshments were served following each service.  These meals enabled those in attendance to make new friends.  Each congregation will conduct its own services during Holy Week.

High School Youth

A generous donation has been received from the Paul and Adrienne Horger Foundation.  This donation will be placed in a fund for helping to provide funds for high school youth to attend the Triennial ELCA Youth Gathering in 2021.  This event is open to high school aged youth 9-12th grade.  Paul and Nancy Calderone will assist the youth by planning additional fund raising activities.

Extending Accessibility

The Property Committee has set a goal for 2018 to make our church building more accessible to those who worship and use the building.  Two “kick off” events will be held during the months of March and April to support this goal.  “Time for Change” jars will be placed in the rear of the church and in the downstairs’ hallway across from the Church Office.  To support the goal, people can place change in these jars.  Committee members will also sell Gertrude Hawk candy bars to support church accessibility.
